I tell complex stories with clarity and creativity

There is so much fascinating scientific research happening across the world. Many of those stories don’t ever get told.

I provide everything from feature articles, website copy, and case studies, to press releases and public engagement materials. I also design and deliver events and workshops, bringing science to life for non-specialist audiences.

My work combines scientific accuracy with strong narrative and editorial skills. I’m passionate about translating complex science into accessible, engaging content and it’s my goal to create communication that connects, informs, and inspires, whether it’s explaining new genomic technology, profiling a scientist, or shaping a school outreach programme.

The intersection of science and storytelling


I have a degree in journalism and began my career as a general news reporter. I developed a sharp editorial eye, clear writing style, and understanding of audience needs, before moving on to communications and public relations.

While taking my second degree in biological sciences, I supported myself by working as a lab technician in the School of Biological Sciences at the University of East Anglia. This sparked my interest in research science as well as giving me invaluable day-to-day experience of the academic environment.

After taking my degree I joined BBSRC-funded research institution the Earlham Institute, as in-house science communicator.

Over time, I’ve built a portfolio that bridges science communication, creative writing, and education — giving me a unique perspective on how to connect people with ideas that matter.

Now, as an independent writer and consultant, I offer:

  • Science writing and editing (articles, features, media releases, case studies, reports)

  • Strategic communication support (messaging, storytelling, outreach planning, communications strategy)

  • Workshops and public engagement (for scientists, schools, and festivals)

I’m based in Norwich, UK. I work with clients across the UK and beyond. I am available for remote or on-site work.
